Baddesley Clinton, National Trust

We recently spent a weekend in Coventry, and during our time there we visited a couple of nearby National Trust properties, one of them was Baddesley Clinton, located in Warwickshire.

Baddesley Clinton is set amongst a forest, and the house that stands on the property belonged to the same family, the Ferrers, for 500 years, passing from father to son for 12 generations.

On the day we visited Baddesley Clinton it was really hot, and we had to line up for about 30 minutes to enter the house, because only one family was allowed in each room due to Covid.

Once we finally entered, the first room we saw was the kitchen, then we had to wait to enter the next room, which was what happened throughout the entire walk through.

All the waiting time started to make Thomas a bit grizzly, as soon as we got inside the house he wanted to get out of my arms, so instead of leaving like I wanted to, I persevered and he was okay for the remainder of the tour.

However, unfortunately for me the wait time wasn’t quite worth it. I didn’t really enjoy this house as much as other National Trust houses I’ve been in.

This could have been due to the wait time, the length of time we had to wait once inside the house, and having a wriggling baby in my arms the whole time, or maybe some other reason, but it was a bit disappointing.

Apart from the house other things at Baddesley Clinton are a restaurant, shop, bookshop, playground, gardens, and parklands.

We didn’t see these things as it was getting quite hot when we exited the house and we wanted to start the drive home.

This means we may possibly go back in the future, and maybe revisiting will make me enjoy the house a bit more.
