Keeping on top of family and home life is hard!

The demands of family life and taking care of a home, can make any mum feel overwhelmed fast!

If you ever feel like no matter how hard you try, you just can’t seem to get your family organised, or keep your home from feeling like one massive disaster, you’re not alone.

I’ve felt like this more than once. As a mum I know only too well how crazy life can get, and how one minute you can feel on top of everything, and the next minute feel like everything is in chaos.

I’ve always been organised, but it wasn’t until I became a mum that my need for organisation was tested, where many times I lost it at the state of my house – toys everywhere, toothpaste lids left off, a messy bathroom less than 1 hour after cleaning it, you get the picture.

I knew that I had to do something to help me get some control back.

So I tried many different organisational and productivity systems to help me manage my family and home life, so they were organised for as long as possible.

I now share these systems on this blog, as well as many other things that help me to keep on top of my family and home life, so that you too can regain control over your own family and home life, with time left over for things you enjoy.

Getting organised, and simplifying your family and home life is a constant work in progress, but having systems in place will help you keep on top of it all, and best of all stay sane!

Boy pushing a stroller - one tip to help decide when to stop using a stroller
7 ways to have life outside of motherhood so mums can find an identity outside of being a mum, including ways to make time for yourself as a mum a priority.

Before becoming a mum, I worked in marketing for over 20 years. I now use the skills I developed during this time to write content for this blog, and to write for others as a freelance writer.

In 2017 I moved from Australia to the UK with my husband and 7 month old son. Since then I’ve had a second son, and their high energy levels can often be quite hard to keep up with.

On these high energy days, when I find motherhood just a little too challenging, I eat a lot of chocolate, and drink heaps of coffee to help me get through them.

Some other things I love doing when I get a chance is read, catch up with friends, bake, and organise and declutter every room in my house.
