Gift ideas for a baby's first Christmas 8-14

Christmas is nearly here, can you believe it! I’m still trying to understand where this year has gone, but Christmas is fast approaching, and this year will be only the second year in over a decade that Nick and I will be spending it away from family, who all, apart from my sister, are in Australia.

This year will also be our first Christmas as a family of four, and as Ryan is at a great age to appreciate all that Christmas has to offer, I’m hoping that this year’s Christmas will be a special one.

To make it special for Thomas as well, who will only be seven months old at Christmas, I thought it might be nice to get him his first Christmas gift and mark the occasion in some way.

If you will also have a baby at Christmas time and would like to celebrate your baby’s first Christmas, here are some baby Christmas gift ideas that you may like to add to your Christmas to do list.

Just as a note, the above images have been sourced from the website they’re linked to below, and the prices shown were current at the time this post was written.

GIFT IDEAS FOR BABY’S FIRST CHRISTMAS

Here are 14 gifts that you may like to purchase for your baby’s first Christmas, or any baby that you have in your life.

1 Baby Christmas sleep suit (£17)
There are so many adorable baby Christmas sleep suits in the stores at this time of the year that it’s hard to choose just one.

This baby Christmas sleep suit is so cute, and it’s colouring means it looks great on any gender.

2 Books for a baby’s first Christmas (£ assorted)
Last year was the first year that I purchased Ryan some Christmas books, so this year I’d like to purchase some that Thomas and Ryan can sit down and listen to together.

There are so many books for a baby’s first Christmas to choose from, even some you can personalise with your baby’s name in it as part of the story.

3 Baby’s first Christmas tree ornament (£22)
This year one of the family Christmas traditions that I want to start is decorating our Christmas tree as a family, and as Thomas is too young to help us, having a personalised Christmas tree ornament like this one would be perfect, and it’s something he can hang on his tree when he’s older.

4 Baby’s first Christmas dinner plate (£9.99)
Thomas will just be at the right age to try some food this Christmas, so this dinner plate could be the perfect gift to give him. You could also get one for older kids in your life as well.

5 Baby’s first Christmas stocking (£10)
If you’d like to get your baby a few smaller items this year, instead of a couple of larger items, then this baby’s first Christmas stocking is the perfect gift, and it can be reused every year.

6 Baby milestone cards (£13.50)
Baby milestone cards are a great way to capture the special moments in your baby’s life, for the next year to come.

7 Sofie baby teether (£14.99)
I’ve just purchased this for Thomas as I think it’s teething time soon.

What I love about the Sofie baby teether is that it’s easy for babies to hold, has multiple sections on it that can be put in their mouths, plus it’s 100% natural rubber with food grade paints so is safe to chew.

8 Red Kite baby play gym (£20)
I’ve purchased this for Thomas’ first Christmas, mainly because it’s a play gym that he can use before and after he learns to sit on his own.

9 Animal squirter baby bath toys (£9)
These animal squirter baby bath toys are so cute, and are sure to add some fun to your baby’s bath time until they’re old enough to play with them by themselves.

10 Lamaze activity spiral sensory toy (£13.20)
What I love about these toys is that they’re colourful and can be moved to your baby’s stroller when you’re out and about.

11 Baby shushing sleep sheep night light (£39.99)
As well as being adorable, this baby shushing sleep sheep night light has soothing sounds to help babies who have trouble falling asleep to actually fall asleep. It even has a sound of a heartbeat and womb. It also has a cry sensor, which activates when your baby stirs in the night.

12 Baby comforter (£11)
One of Ryan’s favourite toddler toys is his rabbit comforter, which is also from the same place as this one. He used to immediately fall asleep whenever he had it, and if this is something you’d like to try to help your baby sleep, then this reindeer one is the perfect one to give your baby at Christmas.

13 Peter Rabbit ring rattle (£9.99)
This Peter Rabbit ring rattle is soft on the top and the handle also acts as a teether, so it’s two great gifts in one.

14 VTech baby sensory toy (£16.99)
Baby sensory toys are a great first Christmas gift idea, the bright colours, movement, and sometimes moving parts are sure to delight your baby for a couple of years to come.

I hope you’ve found some gift ideas on this list that have inspired you to make your baby’s first Christmas a little more memorable.
