The Living Rainforest, Hampstead Norreys, Berkshire
Last Updated on May 4, 2024
This summer we’ve been on a mission to do some staycations, and during our stay in Newbury we had a day out at The Living Rainforest.
The Living Rainforest is an indoor rainforest, that has the same sounds, warmth, and greenery that you’d experience in an actual rainforest, and the animals live as close to their natural habitats as possible.
The rainforest area was nice and spacious, it was very green with many plants and flowers throughout, including on the ceiling.
You could only walk around it in one direction, which meant you could easily see everything and pushing a buggy throughout the rainforest was easy.
There was only one area that had steps, which was a viewing platform, so if you weren’t able to climb the stairs you didn’t miss much.
There was a lake in the centre with birds and fish in it, surrounded by plants, and overhead ropes, which I think were for the sloth, which we didn’t see.
Ryan was easily able to get up close to snakes, lizards, and spiders, which were all hidden behind glass panels.
The animals at The Living Rainforest included:
- Fish
- Iguanas
- A sloth
- Monkeys
- Pythons
- Birds
- Frogs
- Armadillos
It took about 45 minutes to get through The Living Rainforest, which I didn’t think was very long, and I wondered if we’d missed anything, which we hadn’t.
It was a fun afternoon out and I’m glad we went, Ryan loves anything with animals, and this one was different as it had a rainforest.
The Living Rainforest is located at Hampstead Norreys, Thatcham RG18 0TN.
