Things to do at the park

Here’s what there is to do at Ockwells Park:

Playground

There’s a really good playground at the park that’s suitable for toddlers and older kids, that includes:

  • Obstacle courses
  • Stepping stones
  • Rope spider webs
  • Climbing frame with bars and rope bridges
  • Toddler area with slides, rock climbing wall, bridges
  • Area for older kids with rock climbing walls, fire pole, bridges, ladders, slides, tunnels, swings
  • Sandpit
  • Spinning seats
  • Animals and cars on springs

My boys love the playground here, it’s big, there’s a lot to play on, and there are some challenging aspects to it.

Sheep

Next to the playground is a fenced off area that contains a few sheep, which is always a highlight of our visit, because you can touch the sheep through the fence.

Open space

There’s a lot of open space outside of the playground with a path around it for buggy and toddler friendly walks, and enough space for ball games and picnics.

There’s also a gym/circuit trail in this area, as well as paths leading to the nearby Jubilee Wood.

How long you’ll need for your visit

You can spend a small amount of time, or a large amount of time at Ockwells Park, depending on how long your kids like to play, and if you go to the soft play centre.

My thoughts on Ockwells Park

I think Ockwells Park is a great park for kids because it’s large, has a lot of play equipment that’s really well maintained, it’s fun for toddlers, and it’s spread out so you don’t feel like you’re in anyone’s way.

I’ve also taken my boys to the soft play here, but find it too small for my 6 year old, but a good size for 2-3 year olds.

I hope you’ve found this Ockwells Park review helpful, and that it’s helped you to decide if it’s somewhere you’d like to explore.
