Desenio Scandinavian wall art review

Desenio Scandinavian wall art review

[AD] I love buying products that make my house a home, and one of the products that I love buying to help me achieve this is wall art.

There are many things that I love about the transformative nature of wall art.

I love that it can immediately change the look and feel of a room, that it allows you to showcase countries, locations, and people that are special to you, and best of all, that it can be easily moved if you move houses.

Moving houses is something that I recently did, and before moving I knew that I’d need some wall art to make the house a home that my family and I would want to spend time in.

That’s why I was really excited when Desenio reached out to me and very kindly allowed me to choose some wall art from their range, to hang in my home.

Desenio’s product range is the most extensive I’ve seen, making it something that I’m excited to talk about in this post, which also covers the wall art I chose, and how I chose it, all of which I hope will help you choose some Desenio wall art for your own home.

Who are Desenio?

Desenio was founded in 2010, and have grown exponentially since then, currently having an online presence in 33 markets, and have new markets soon to emerge.

Desenio are passionate about interiors, specifically Scandinavian design, a design that is characterised by a minimal, clean approach, which means that Desenio’s products will compliment any type of design you currently have in your home.

Their business idea is simple: stylish wall art should be affordable to everyone, which is a business idea that I absolutely love.

Commitment to sustainability

Aside from their extensive product range, Desenio is fully committed to sustainability.

There are many ways that Desenio do this, they constantly strive to improve their production process, so they can reduce their impact on the environment.

They are also an FSC® certified company, which means that the trees used to produce their wall art are harvested responsibly, in a way that provides environmental, social, and economic benefits to everyone involved in the production of their products.

The paper used in their wall art is produced in Sweden, at one of the world’s most sustainable paper mills.

Additionally, for every tree used in the production of their wall art, Desenio plant two new trees through Vi Agroforestry, a Swedish development cooperation organisation. In 2019 they contributed to planting 6,664 trees, which is truly amazing.

Desenio’s product range

Desenio offer thousands of pieces of wall art, many of which are designed by their own Design Studio, and carefully selected suppliers.

There’s wall art to suit every room, and every personal taste, and their website makes it extremely easy to find the wall art you’re looking for.

You can search their product range in a few different ways.

You can head straight to Desenio’s home page and search for wall art in the main images, or from prints we love.

If you need help choosing some wall art, or if you’d like to buy a few pieces but aren’t sure what goes together, then searching the poster pack category will really help you.

Desenio’s poster packs are a collection of pieces that are combined based on bestsellers and latest trends.

For example, there’s a poster pack containing a selection of prints from their kitchen category that have the same colours in them.

There’s also a collection of nature prints that show similar scenes, or a kids poster pack collection that features the same animals.

I love the poster pack category, because choosing wall art can be hard, especially if you’ve never done it before.

Having the ability to choose a selection of prints that have been carefully chosen to compliment each other makes it an easy way to start adding wall art to your home, in a way that is carefully curated, and beautifully matched.

What wall art did I choose?

I loved every minute that I spent looking for wall art for my home; I could have looked for days!

I finally chose four pieces of wall art, which I’ve included as photos below.

These photos don’t do the prints any justice, they are much better in real life, so because of this I’ve also included screenshots of each piece from Desenio’s website here as well.

Living room wall art

From left to right the wall art that I chose for my living room was:

Each piece is 50cm x 70cm and framed in Desenio’s Silver Picture Frame.

The frame is incredible quality, and the silver is very shiny.

There’s a range of frame colours to choose from, including copper, which was extremely tempting.

Bathroom wall art

For my bathroom I chose Summer Dream No1 Poster in 21cm x 30cm, and framed it in the Silver Picture Frame.

Kid’s bedroom wall art

For Ryan’s room I let him choose his own wall art from the kids wall art category.

He loves space, so it was no surprise that he chose The Solar System Poster, which I ordered in 21cm x 30cm.

I wanted to hang his wall art differently to the rest, so chose the White Poster Hanger with Magnet Fastener in 22cm, which fit the print perfectly.

The best thing about this type of hanger is that it can be easily moved around Ryan’s room.

Here are screenshots of each piece of wall art taken from Desenio’s website.

How did I choose my wall art?

It was really hard to choose some wall art, because I loved so many of the choices.

But I had to choose some, so the first thing I did was visit my favourite wall art categories, which are botanicals and abstract, and I clicked the love heart next to any piece that I liked.

Clicking the love heart added the piece to my favourites list.

Once I had seen all of the prints in these categories, I started to look at other categories and added pieces I liked to my favourites list.

Once done, I had a lot of favourites, so to remove some choices I thought about the feeling that I wanted each room to have, so I could choose wall art that reflected that feeling.

For my living room, I wanted large prints that added some colour to create a more lively feeling.

However, for my bathroom, I wanted a smaller print that created a relaxed feeling, and for Ryan’s room I wanted him to choose his own.

I then removed any wall art from my favourites list that wasn’t colourful, or relaxing, or came in the size that I wanted for each room, until I was left with about five product choices for each room, and then I bravely chose my final choices.

The Summer Dream No1 Poster that I choose for my bathroom is the exact type of print that I love, and buy often.

However, the wall art that I chose for the living room, the Golden Horizon 2 Poster and the Pink Sky Poster are prints that I would never have thought about buying in the past, because I tend to go with muted colours.

It was only because I saw how pretty they were on Desenio’s website, that made me try them, and I’m so glad that I did because they really are beautiful, and add the exact level of colour and liveliness to my living room that I wanted.

My final thoughts

I’m really happy with the wall art that I chose, and am especially impressed that I stepped out of my comfort zone when choosing them.

There really is a product to suit everyone’s taste at Desenio, from products to brighten up a room, to create a relaxing space, or to transform a room into anything you want it to be.
