Paradise Wildlife Park, Broxbourne

A day out at Paradise Wildlife Park World of Dinosaurs T Rex

This year we celebrated Ryan’s fifth birthday at Paradise Wildlife Park.

I’ve been wanting to go to this park for a long time, so couldn’t think of a better reason to finally go than to celebrate Ryan’s birthday.

Paradise Wildlife Park has a very interesting history going back over 50 years, where numerous transformations and challenges were met to make it the park that it is today, where animals are treated with the upmost respect and care, and conservation and education are a focus.

It took an hour to get to Paradise Wildlife Park, and when we got there at around 1230pm it was drizzling a bit, but luckily it stopped and it didn’t rain for the rest of the day.

The first thing we did was go to the World of Dinosaurs, which was so much more impressive than I could have imagined.

There were 30 life sized dinosaurs that moved and roared, there was even one being eaten by smaller dinosaurs.

Thomas who is one, loved the dinosaurs so much, he tried to touch them. They really were amazing, very life like, and just really, really impressive.

After the dinosaurs we had lunch at the Safari Diner, then headed to the animal section, which had animals including:

  • Lions
  • Tigers
  • Zebras
  • Tapirs
  • Camels
  • Monkeys
  • Meerkats
  • Reptiles
  • Snakes
  • Owls
  • Emus
  • Penguins and
  • Farmyard animals

The park was really easy to get around, even with a buggy, and it was signed so well that you couldn’t miss anything.

A big plus, and something that I thought was really unique, was that you could easily see the animals, and some of them were really close up, like the zebras, they were so close you could have touched them! I’ve never been so close to animals in a park before.

Our animal highlight were the penguins, Thomas loved them so much. He tried to touch them, talk to them, and giggled at them when they jumped into the water.

After the animals we had a coffee break whilst Ryan played at the Pirate Cove, which was a playground full of fun things.

We were there for 4.5 hours but didn’t have time to do the woodland animals, crazy golf, soft play, or water park, so I definitely want to go back at some point.

It was honestly one of the best family days out we’ve had in a long time, it was so much fun, and I can’t wait to go back.

Oh I absolutely LOVE Paradise Wildlife Park. I’ve been going ever since I was a kid and I still go now as an adult (without kids) and enjoy it just as much! I was lucky to be invited there on a press visit a few years ago when their dino section just opened and was so impressed with it – it’s such a cool feature!

It’s definitely a really fun place to visit even without kids, the dino section was truly unique and to see it when it first opened would have been amazing! I’m so glad you like it as much as I do.
