For Christmas I bought Thomas a Woody Treasures Activity Cube, because I was after a toy that he could play with in a few different ways, and that was different from his cars that he plays with every day.
If you’d like to find out more about the Woody Treasures Activity Cube, including my thoughts on it, here is a review of it, which I hope helps you decide if the Woody Treasures Activity Cube is something you’d like to buy for your child.
In this review I’ll cover:
I hope you find this review helpful, and would love to know if there’s anything that you think I can add to it, to ensure it’s as helpful as can be.
An overview of Woody Treasures
Woody Treasures sell wooden toys to enhance children’s learning at home, build upon children’s mental development, keep them curious, and increase their attention span.
Each toy within their range has been ergonomically designed, and hand crafted from solid polished wood.
The activity cube’s packaging
This kid’s activity cube came in a cardboard box. There was no other packaging inside or outside of the box.
The only assembling needed was to insert the bead maze into the top of the cube.
How the activity cube works
The activity cube has five activities on it, which are:
- A bead maze
- Animal sliders
- Spinning frog
- Abacus frame
- Shape sorter
Each activity is located on the sides and top of the activity cube, and the aim of each activity is to encourage imagination and creativity, and fine tune problem solving and motor skills.
The bead maze on top of the cube is removable, so the four shapes (triangle, pentagon, circle, and square) and bead maze can be stored inside the cube when not in use, making storage easy.
Batteries aren’t needed to play with this toy.
Size and colours
This cube is 15.5cm deep and 28cm high, and only comes in the colours shown in the images above.
Material
This kid’s activity cube is made from wood, with easy turning parts, and polished corners with rounded edges.
Things included with the activity cube
All you get inside the box is the cube.
Recommended age
The recommended age stated on the box is 18+ months, which I think is a great age for this toy.
Price
I paid £19.99 for this wooden toy on Amazon, but at the time of writing this post it was reduced to £15.99.
My overall thoughts on this activity cube
What I love about this kid’s activity cube is that it’s colourful, the activities are challenging for younger children, and it’s compact making storage, or travelling with it extremely easy.
However, Thomas at nearly 3 doesn’t play with it for long, and the only activity I’ve seen him play with is the shape sorter.
The main drawback of this kid’s activity cube for me has been the durability of the spinning frog. I had the activity cube for 1 week before part of the frog’s face came off, and Thomas wasn’t even rough with it.
